The 1st annual Wisner Charity Golf Event was a success! We could not have done it without the donors, players and, of course, the volunteers! Here is a copy of the letter that went to www.lakeplacidnews.com We can not wait until next year's tournement! Thanks again.
Letter to the LP news :
On behalf of the John R. Wisner Scholarship Fund I would like to thank everyone who donated and participated in the May 23rd first annual golf tournament in memory of John “Bucky” Wisner, member of the LPHS class of ‘82. We had a great turnout and raised enough money so that we can give out the first scholarship to a member of this year’s graduating class.
I would especially like to thank our business sponsors that helped make our day a success: The Cottage and Mirror Lake Inn, Golub Corp, McDonalds Corp, Quiznos, Subway, Ben and Jerry’s, Nike, Mr. Mike’s, Nicola’s, Green Goddess, Starbucks, Promotional Solutions, The Fallen Arch, and Walker Arts.
Butch Martin and his staff at Craigwood were extremely helpful with our event. Jim Wasson Jr., Zach Clark and Dick Strack assisted us with setting up our event so that it ran smoothly. We could not have done it without them!
Lisa and Nick Plante hosted a great after golf party at their establishment, Wise Guys. They had terrific food and all our golfers enjoyed a great end to their day.
We could not have done all this without the dedication and support of all our volunteers. Thank you for your time and dedication to making this a great event for a great cause.
With the economy hurting so many individuals and businesses it was heartwarming to see that so many people can come together to remember a friend in such a positive way.
Sincerely,
Gary Warrington
