John R. Wisner Memorial Golf Event


Dear Friends,

As you may know, we lost our friend John “Bucky” Wisner last spring. It is so hard to believe that almost a year has passed. In order to memorialize our dear friend we are calling upon the community to help us establish a scholarship in John’s memory. John was an avid reader, golfer, and fisherman. He also dedicated his life working at Wildwood in Albany, NY helping disabled people. To say he touched many lives is an understatement. It is in the spirit to which John helped others that we now want an everlasting way for John’s legacy to help others.

The First Annual Wisner Golf Charity Event will be the first step in establishing a scholarship for a graduating senior from Lake Placid High School. What better way to honor John than to help a child with some of the costs of his or her education. With higher education costs rising and financial aid dwindling, this scholarship will be very important to a student. The first scholarship will be awarded this June.

If you cannot join us on the golf course, you can still contribute to the scholarship fund by sending in a donation. Every little bit helps.
